Organizing is good for community building. In the face of fear and retribution, Mainers are coming together to look out for our neighbors. We are building a base broad and powerful enough to create a future where all Mainers, regardless of background, have the opportunity to thrive.
Below are ways to plug in, give, and take action. Join the Effort.
Build with the Coalition
MIRC and our coalition partners do the day-in, day-out work of coordinating Maine's immigrant defense response. Volunteer time, join a community response training, or chip in financially.
MIRC — Maine Immigrants' Rights Coalition
The statewide coalition organizing this work. Volunteer with the Hotline, verification team, or policy advocacy.
Support the Lawyers Who Show Up
Your support helps maintain the availability of free and low-cost legal representation reachable for the people who need it most.

Maine Law Refugee & Human Rights Clinic
Select "Clinics at Maine Law" and write "RHRC" in the Other Designation line.
Give Directly to the Funds
When someone is detained, a family often loses their source of income overnight. Their rent and bills are still due, food still needs to be put on the table, immigration fees must be paid on time and often bond will need to be paid with short notice to bring their loved one home. These are the funds that move first. They're heavily used and every gift matters.
BIJAN

Mainers for Humane Immigration
